The Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) has embarked on an ambitious tourism master plan designed to revolutionize the sector by 2041. The plan aims to attract 5.57 million foreign tourists annually and generate 21.94 million jobs, marking a pivotal advancement in Bangladesh's economy through the development of tourism sector. The project was conducted in three distinct phases: Situation Analysis, Strategic Master Plan Preparation, and Final Plan Creation.
CEMS played a crucial role throughout this process, leveraging their strategic planning expertise to guide the development of the master plan. We conducted a thorough analysis of the existing tourism landscape, identifying strengths, challenges, and opportunities. Their management consulting skills were instrumental in addressing industry-specific issues and formulating actionable recommendations to enhance tourism offerings and investment potential.
In addition to strategic guidance, CEMS utilized advanced mapping and data analysis tools to support the planning of infrastructure improvements. This data-driven approach ensured that the master plan was well-informed and aligned with future needs. CEMS also contributed to workforce development, providing essential training and support to build local expertise in the tourism sector.
The combined efforts of CEMS in association with the other partners helped shape the BTB Master Plan into a comprehensive framework that is poised to drive sustainable growth and elevate Bangladesh's global tourism competitiveness.
