The Export Competitiveness for Jobs (EC4J) Project is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Bangladesh, financed by the World Bank. The project aims to diversify Bangladesh’s export sector beyond Ready-Made Garments (RMG) by enhancing the competitiveness of four high-potential industries: Leather & Leather Goods, Footwear, Plastics, and Light Engineering.
As part of this initiative, the MEET Bangladesh 2025 Exposition was organized to position Bangladesh as a preferred global sourcing destination. The event brought together local manufacturers, international buyers, industry leaders, and policymakers to promote trade, investment, and export opportunities across targeted sectors. More than 120 local exhibitors and over 25 international buyers participated in the exposition.
Through market access support, technology development, infrastructure improvement, and export readiness programs, EC4J seeks to strengthen Bangladesh’s industrial capabilities, increase exports, attract investment, and create sustainable employment opportunities. The project is expected to contribute significantly to the country's export diversification and long-term economic growth. Download post show report
